The General uses a lot more hardware than any other DD build.

This project is the most complex build in the DD Shoppe and has over 200 parts.
That’s way more than any other DD build. Even L3.
The parts themselves being both organic and complex in design will require more supports than any other DD build.
Estimated filament usage: 22kg including Base/Stand.
Smallest printer size 256 x 256 x 256
The original design has the following challenges …
1. He’s huge, just huge. Standing fully upright he’s 2.3 meters tall.
2. He has very off balance thin animal like “Hind” Legs.
3. He has very thin Arms that need to be posed in either Two,
or a crazy Four Arm configurations that will be expected to hold out LightSabers,
making it even more off balance.
For these three reasons he 100% requires a Stand/Base.
The plus side means we get pose-able Legs, essential for the General with his crazy legs. And we even have a pose-able Foot to crush/hold a Trooper helmet.
The Stand will be printable and fills with concrete or similar.
It will use a centre tube to the Hip.
The Stand and Tube can be hidden by the addition of a cape.
We have an excellent recommendation for an off the shelf cape (blanket) in the GG group for those that don’t want to make one, refer to group pics to see the Cape we recommend.
The GG Builders Group will serve as the support group for the build.
So any questions for the construction of the General should be asked in there,
and not sent to the message/help section of this DD site.
As GG is so bonkers complex there will definitely be revisions and updates.
After all, there are often updates on simple droids so there are def going to be updates on this one for sure.
Please make sure you are comfortable with this level of complexity and amount of needed hardware before purchasing.
