The Droid Division Workshop proudly presents: the super-detailed, solid-state DK Droid STL file set!
The single most requested droid, finally here, and it’s a beast!

What You Get:

• Full STL file set to print the entire DK Droid
• A massive 5,000-word build guide PDF (the most detailed I’ve ever written!)
• A General Printing Tips PDF
• Full hardware list — including all required tubes, poles, and bolts

This is a huge, complex, and rewarding build — not for the faint of heart, but worth every layer.

Build & Engineering:

• Final height: over 1900mm (6ft 3in)
• Triangular footprint: ~1300mm (4ft 2in) per side
• Estimated filament usage: 35–37kg (at 1:1 scale)
• Designed to be freestanding without internal support poles under the body

• Structural parts (legs, spine) are built around:

  • ¾” round metal poles
  • 30x15mm oval tubes

If you follow the build instructions and use the correct tubing, it will stand unaided just like in the photos — whoot!
Please don’t leave a bad review because it’s big or uses lots of tubes — it’s meant to!

Articulation & Features:

• Fully articulated upper sections, with some movement restricted or advised to be locked for stability
• Legs are fixed-pose at ankle, knee, and hip, designed for visual realism and stability
• Internal voids for lighting in the head and boomstick units
• Can be painted and finished to your liking, but even raw prints at 0.3mm layer height look fantastic

Printer Compatibility:

• Optimised for slightly smaller beds like the Bambu Labs 256 beds
• Includes parts for larger printers also
